Lingcod opens May 1.
If you’ve fished it with us before, you already know — this isn’t a long season and it doesn’t last.
Six weeks. That’s it.
For the guys that come back every May, this is your reminder: the calendar fills fast once we get into April.
For everyone new to SeattleFishing.com — here’s how we do it.
We Don’t Jig. We Fish Live Bait.
First thing we do is go catch bait.
Small sanddabs and shiner perch. Light tackle. Quick action. It’s part of the trip and honestly half the fun.
Once the bait tank’s full, we move to rocky structure where lingcod live.
Drop that live bait down into their house and it’s game on.
You’ll feel the bait panic.
Then the rod loads up heavy and starts digging toward the rocks.
That’s not a jig tap.
That’s a lingcod trying to wreck you.
Why Repeat Clients Love This Trip
Lingcod fishing is active. You’re working the rod. You’re feeling the bite. And when you hook one, it’s immediate.
A lot of our repeat clients book lingcod every year because:
- Short season urgency
- Big aggressive fish
- Incredible table fare
- Different pace than trolling salmon
It’s hands-on fishing.
Is This Trip Right for You?
Lingcod is great for:
- Anglers who want something more aggressive than trolling
- Small private groups
- Experienced fishermen
- Repeat salmon clients wanting to mix it up
If you’re bringing younger kids, salmon can be steadier action.
Lingcod is more “work the rod and be ready.”
The Dates
- Opens: May 1
- Closes: June 15
- Limited days available
Once it closes, we pivot fully into salmon season.
